During our construction season, which runs April through November, South Rock
Ltd. is always interested in hearing from qualified and experienced applicants

Since we work throughout Alberta, applicants must be willing to travel
as required and live in camp and/or hotel settings. All positions require a
minimum of a class 5 drivers license (or higher, as noted).

Class 1 and 3 Truck Drivers
South Rock Ltd. has a variety of positions requiring class 1 or 3 licenses.
These opportunities include:

Tandem drivers

End Dump / Belly dump drivers

Oil distributor operators

Water Truck driver

Equipment Hauling

Asphalt Oil long haul (Super B experience required)
Any of our driving positions may include varying levels of labour when required.
We expect our drivers to contribute to the team effort as required. The
following skills and experiences are definite assets:

Heavy Duty Mechanics & Servicemen
South Rock seeks mechanics and service men for our extensive fleet of road
building equipment. We accept applications from 1st year apprentices to
experienced journeymen. We have permanent shops located in Airdrie and Medicine
Hat, and mobile service trucks to assist field crews.

Class 3 license required for service positions

Experience in the industry may be considered in lieu of certificates and
apprenticeships may be available.

Equipment Operators - Loader, Dozer, Grader
Experienced loader, dozer, grader, packer operators in different capacities on
our base and paving crews. The ability and experience to operate multiple
machines is valued and finishing experience is beneficial.

Experienced Asphalt Personnel
We are always looking for people with asphalt experience. General labour,
rakermen, roller operators, screed and paver operators are all valued members of

Flag Persons
Entry level and seasoned flagger’s applications are always accepted. Training
and uniforms will be provided by South Rock Ltd.
Employee must be able to provide:

Class 5 drivers licence and own transportation to possibly remote jobsites

Own CSA approved steel toed boots

Field Technicians
Experienced testers or applicants with a certificate in Civil Engineering or
Construction Technology may be considered for a variety of asphalt, aggregate
and compaction testing. Surveying experience may also be considered an asset.

Asphalt Plant Personnel
South Rock Ltd maintains our own stationary and mobile asphalt plants.
Experience in any aspect of plant operations is considered in asset.

Crusher Personnel
GS Crushing Ltd. is a strategic partner of South Rock Ltd. and requires
experienced crushing personnel on an ongoing basis. Tower operators, loader
operators and truck drivers are needed at these operations and we are willing to
train the right candidate for any of the aforementioned positions.
